It's a hit!

Before this album came out, the only other Green Day CD I owned was International Superhits. I don't really recall when I started to like Green Day's music, and when I started to listen to them, but this album helped make me the person that I am now. I'm only 16 years old, but I know for a fact that if this album had not been released, then I would not be the same person that I am today. This album has had a lot of influence on stuff that I listen to now. It will still always be #1 for me though. It's absolutely incredible. (show less)

  This is one of my favorite albums ever, it tells the story of the Jesus of Suburbia and how he hated America and the city he lived in so he left it, then he goes through denial and thinks about suicidal. He's real name is St. Jimmy, and then after he gets over denial, he meets this girl called Whatername, and he sorts of hates her and then he kinda loves her, and we find out that his mother was a lover and his fater was a hater, which is how he gets his rage and love and then he finally does ...   This is one of my favorite albums ever, it tells the story of the Jesus of Suburbia and how he hated America and the city he lived in so he left it, then he goes through denial and thinks about suicidal. He's real name is St. Jimmy, and then after he gets over denial, he meets this girl called Whatername, and he sorts of hates her and then he kinda loves her, and we find out that his mother was a lover and his fater was a hater, which is how he gets his rage and love and then he finally does commit suicide and loses and Whatsername forgets all about him. All and All it's a really good album, and you have to listen to it a few times to get the story, the live CD that they made for this is a really good CD too, it has about the first 5 songs of the album and then a few of thier older songs like Minority and Time of Your Life. It follows the outline of the Jesus of Suburbia, the main character, as he goes through denial, and struggles to discover what true rebellion is. Along the way, he meets up with a rebellious character, St. Jimmy, who is taking the wrong road of rebellion, through drugs and violence.
